Hunt Valley, MD – 2/3/2020 – the employees of Systems Alliance, Inc. (SAI) provided support to Helping Up Mission, Year Up Baltimore, Hereford Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House Maryland, and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
“We like to share information about the organizations we’ve spent time with, because we see the impact they have on the communities they serve. I hope that by learning more about them, you will be encouraged to consider working with them as well,” said Ric Hughes, CEO of SAI.
Helping Up Mission is a Baltimore not-for-profit organization that aids men and women fighting addiction and homelessness with comprehensive recovery services. Through its Spiritual Recovery Program, the mission integrates the practical needs of its clients — food, clothing, shelter — with their clinical, mental health, medical, educational, and vocational needs.
Last year, SAI staff donated time and services like its Acadia software platform, which enables Helping Up to standardize and improve delivery of services to the Mission’s clients. If you’d like to support this important mission, the organization welcomes you to donate in many forms. You can contribute funding, volunteer time or supply food, clothing, and toiletries.
Hereford Food Bank serves 10 Zip Codes in northern Baltimore County. It is an all-volunteer operation and 100% of donations of both food and funds go toward fulfilling its mission to help those in need within the Hereford Zone. Hereford Food Bank strives to provide a small safety net for those in need, because hard times can fall on us all.
2019 was the eighth year for SAI to hold an office food drive for the food bank and plans to expand its support in 2020. Because it is an all-volunteer operation, private donations of food and funds are critical to its continuing operation.
Year Up Baltimore’s Professional Training Corps (PTC) offers an intensive, one-year program for students, ages 18-24, combining professional coaching, hands-on skill development, and internships at some of America’s top companies. PTC provides them with professional development and work experience, preparing graduates to launch a meaningful career.
SAI works with Year Up, providing internships and other real-world exposure to the business world. The organization offers an incredible opportunity for young adults in Baltimore. You can find motivated, talented and professional people to fill your open positions here. The organization is always looking for new corporate partners as well. It’s a great way to meet, train, and work with potential new hires before officially bringing them on board.
The Ronald McDonald House of Maryland provides a home-away-from-home for seriously ill children and their families. Because of the excellent care facilities in the Baltimore region, families often travel long distances to have their children treated here. Having a safe, welcoming, and cost-free place to stay during an extended treatment period provides a great deal of comfort during a stressful time.
Last year, SAI team members supported Ronald McDonald House by donating care packages for the families staying at the house. Support in the form of time, talents, funds, and materials are important to the running of the facility and are welcome from individuals and businesses.
The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center is the pediatric hospital of Johns Hopkins Medical. It is one of the most comprehensive pediatric medical programs in the country, with centers of excellence in dozens of pediatric subspecialties. Their excellent care draws nearly 9,000 admissions per year. Child life donations provide supplies that make a hospital stay better for children, helping them just be a kid while in the hospital.
SAI employees donated to 2019’s Snowflake Station, which provides age appropriate gifts that parents can select from and give to their children while in the hospital over the holidays. There are many ways you can help add comfort to our patients and families.
The employees of SAI look at the work they do for these and other organizations as an important opportunity to support their community. Employees decide which groups they will support each year through an organizing committee that takes feedback from their colleagues and arranges activities that match their interests.
“Every year, we try to identify the organizations who can benefit most from our time, resources, and professional services. It makes me grateful to work with colleagues who are so eager to make themselves available to others in need,” said Irvin Johnson, a member of the Giving Back team.
